US Life Applications Extend Growth Streak

As someone deeply committed to protecting families and helping them achieve lasting financial security, I’m encouraged by the momentum we’re seeing in the life insurance landscape. In Early-Q3 2026, life insurance applications in the US grew by approximately 15% year-over-year—marking six straight months of double-digit gains. This robust activity even outpaced the same period in both 2024 and 2023.

Year-to-date, applications remained up by around 15%, despite a brief dip of about 2% after a particularly strong Late-Q2. What stands out to me is how growth strengthened among older applicants: ages 40+ saw double-digit increases, ages 60–69 surged by about 33%, and those 70+ experienced a remarkable 54% rise. Meanwhile, applications among those under 30 dipped slightly by 2%.

It’s also notable that every face-amount band grew in Early-Q3, with especially strong gains in policies below $250K and those between $1M and just under $5M. All product types—Term Life, Whole Life, and Universal Life—posted yearly growth in Early-Q3, with double-digit increases year-to-date. Term Life applications were up by about 23%, Whole Life by 21%, and Universal Life by 4%.

For families planning ahead, these trends reflect a growing awareness of the importance of financial protection at every stage of life. Whether you’re just starting your journey or looking to refine your plan, having the right coverage brings peace of mind that your future—and that of your loved ones—is secure.
